As already mentioned by others, there are better heads available now. Certainly Chevy's later performance heads are better, but the BEST performance SB heads are aftermarket versions. The first version of the double hump heads was the 461, which was introduced in 1961 on the 315hp/283 fuel injected (ONLY) Corvette engine.
