First thing I would do is remount the thing, which WILL require a re-zero with the suspicion that it wasn't fully secured, and that opening the battery door caused the optic to move. The battery that came installed lasted about a month. I always expect the installed batteries to fail soon, since you can't account for how long it has been installed. So I don't complain about that.
